Gods and Monsters

A little update on my life, the situation in office getting better, clearing out most of my inbox [if i had one physically] and enjoying it more than the last week.

I've just finished a book [there's the extra, like deleted scenes forma dvd but that's not really part of the story so it doesn't count] and it was the most amazing book ever. The book is none other than Anansi Boys, the newest book by Neil Gaiman.

Abit about the book first.
The story is about Anansi, the african Spider God, and how when he died, his son, Fat Charlie finds out about a brother, Spider, he didnt knew who slept with his fiance, blackmailed his boss and totally messed up his life, however little he has. Along the way, people died, Fat Charlie travelled across the Atlantic a couple of times, people singed and dance, Gods singed and danced and tongues are ripped off. But in the end, it was a happy ending. To find out more, please read the book.

Abit about the author.
Neil Gaiman is the most sick, talented, and unconventional artist around. Some of his famous works include, Good Omens, Stardust, Neverwhere, American Gods, Coraline and the widely acclaimed Sandman series. His stories mostly revolves in our times, where people blogged, Gods are scarce and kids are fat. Yet in each of them is about something from beyond, from the old days, from another world itself. He has this magical way of weaving everything together. A word of caution first, he's stories ain't the happiest ones around and they say magic, they don't mean faeries and stuff. A good example would be Glass Snow Apple, a wicked twist to Snow White.

Lastly, abit about me.
Ever since a kid, i have lived in a world of Gods and Monsters, Myths and Legends. Aries and Apollo acompany me as Zeus fights along side his sons and daughters against the titans. But they have always been stories until Neil Gaiman revealed that they are still part of this world. I feel like he is writing out my dreams.

The book i just finished is a very good example. The book talks about twins and brothers[read previous blog for more details] , about magic and singing [read the last blog for more details] and the green funky hat that needs a little attitude to go with.

I'm starting to lose my thoughts again. If only i had a bottle to store them in. Maybe i should go Ikea to find one this sat. Well until i get my bottles, a toast to Neil Gaiman, my very own Sandman
