Guess Who I Bump Into

Guess who I bump into after 2 odd years when shopping with Nic today, my slut boy nephew, Andrew Yap

And to think that the first thing he says after so long is... "Aye Cute Hor" [after i call him "Recruit knock it down"] I was just talking to him online cause i knew he's going to watch Forbidden City and I wanted the CD [which he didn't get] He was with Janice and Yunshuang and some random guy who is his NS buddy. Abit like him also. Hahah and he was telling me he wanna get sword. Hahah My idiot slut boy nephew.

Since we're on the topic of Forbidden City, please support the local art [aka mE]. The Forbidden City is not to be missed. The cast and singing is out of the question. They are out of this world. Well other than this fat guy from the ensemble who is too drama, well for me at least. Kit Chan's rendition of the transition of the young concubine to the empress dowager is amazing. You can actually feel the change although she looks almost the same [expect the change of costume]. Hossan Leong [erm.. hossan leong] and Sebastian Tan [Broadway Beng] plays the record keepers who are comic relieves in the otherwise heavy musical. The wonderful use of simplistic sets was one of the magic of theatre. The main prop was this HUGE folding screen whose mere movement and folding transformed the stage into the palace, the summer palace, the outside of the palace etc. Another amazing thing was the stagehands and stage managers. They actually have costumes too [Some white tradition chinese costume]. They were openly pushing the screen around and they almost looked like the cast. I notice them cause 2 of them are actually wearing head sets. The last scene, the backdrop was damn cool. It's a cutout of Beijing Skyline. There's too much to tell and having no photos is not helping either. Hopefully they are showing it on TV like the other run. Do catch it if you can.

What I've Been Busy With

This are some of the projects that have kept me busy for the last few months and mind you, these are just for one module. Busy me. tsk Tsk tsk.

This was using natural materials and no adhesives were used. I call it Begats. It shows how nature is self sustaining and cyclical nature of Nature. I left it in class so I suppose the moss would be rotten and dead by now.

This is inspired by Neil Gaiman's Stardust. Wonderful novel in a disguise of a children's book. Do pick it up, as well as his other books. It was done using wires. That in the middle, if you can see, is a star and in it, Heart's Desire. Very Burton too. Two of the great influences on me.

This is one of our first assignments. Done with balsa wood. It is called Dreams. It shows the organic nature of Dreams and how they continues to grow.

I would show you guys the real project but trust me, the photos are nicer. Hope you liked them. ^_^ [Wah LAO ACT CUTE!]
