Discovered!

This special place has once again been discovered by the funniest way. Ah lei [hi da xing xing] was saying all of a sudden at lunch about my one of the previous post. He was saying to han zi something like jonathan dont like to do project with you. Then I was puzzled then he say veron saw from my blog which thickens the plot. How the hell did my blog get spilled out. I thought veron might be someone's friend [maybe ning since she's also in NUS] End up, veron was [most probably] goggling ah lei's name and end up at my blog since i mentioned him too. So now they know of this blog [damn, can't gossip about them anymore] so yup, Hi Veron and kunlei and whoever is reading this.

Going back for PAD's DnD on friday. Can't wait to see auntie Queenie and Halil and the others again. Well maybe not HIM. Hopefully I remember to take photos that day.

Forced to Change

Finally made the change to the new blogger with the google thingy. Not that I want to but the system made me do it. Not very keen on this new system. Nothing nice about it so far.

I'm falling in love with drawing more and more. I just need to draw faster and be more confident. Hopefully by end of semester, got something for the year end show.

WTF

I’m perpetually baffled by the latest blogging phenomenon. It’s a pity the perfect photoshopping is still unable to mask the main leads of the blog. Hopefully any connection to him will not be revealed should anything happen.

I think I need a job soon. Somebody help me.

Something from the past

Was clearing my gmail and I found this email to myself. Most probably written when I'm in PAD.

"At the end of the nine-months training, standing at the edge of the parade square in our Number one uniform, awaiting our grand entrance, adventures or misadventures during training flashed before the mind. It is not until that moment that I realize what I have experienced was something once in a lifetime.

Having been transferred from the army to the Police Force during my NS stint, the transition was abrupt. It was a very different culture. More was expected of you during the training especially as a senior officer in training. While physical training is inevitable during NS, no one expected to kayak around Singapore during leadership training. After that, passing by the coastline of Singapore was never the same. The bonds forged during the nine months were put to test numerous times and stood through each one of them. The camaraderie was something that could only be forged through time.

Montage of these and other incidents flash across the mind, as I tried to make sense of the nine-month stint. I came to realize that the lessons learnt goes beyond the training programmes. Like all rites of passage, this symbolizes growth. Standing there, at the edge of the parade square, in many aspects, I have grown. Like a proud parent, the instructor said as we march in, "All the best, my NSPIs." In the eyes of others, we have grown too."

About Friends

I have come to the conculsion that best friends have the hardest time working together. Project with Han zi and kunlei was total chaos. Too much ideas between us to bounce. And too little time to do a proper planning. Think it's cause we are too comfortable with each other.

Another experience was with Ami doing Beggar Boy. However, that time was different as the story belongs to them. So everything was according to them.

Now that I'm writing this, I think I am wrong. It's the ownership of the project that makes a difference. And of course the openess of the owner to accept comments. I think we will do better for the next assignment.

Anyway, I have the feeling that my friends, especially the closer ones, have tons in common with me. Maybe I'm so self-centered that I connect to people who are similar.

Sorry, random rumbling before I go to school.

Night At the Musuem

Took a trip down to the newly renovated museum with Ah lec and Ning yesterday. It was very nice although we only went to the Living Exhibits which showcased different aspects of Singapore - Film, Food, Fashion, Photography. Was eager to see Royston's short for the chinese wayang section but can't seem to find it but the others were equally nice. However, didn't had the chance to watch all of the shorts done for the exhibits.

And the catch of the day? Cool photos from the cam crazy people.

I remembered..

I remember now, you were sitting on the chair with my friends while I sat on the stairs when my animation was screening. You went home after that while I went for supper with my friends. I think that was what happened. I hope that was what happened.

My friends said I'm a spoilt brad. Maybe I'm.

I Hate the Rain

Was totally prepared to go for swim after school yesterday when it rained the whole day. Totally spoiled every plan. I was on my way to school already when they spread the message that there is no need to attend the lecture. Another spoiler. End up in school with ah lei, thom, TQ [aka sotong] and jessica [aka watermelon] waiting outside the lecture hall which took me hours to find [ok maybe just 10 minutes] Totally no plans so the hall people when back to their hall and the others [me, jessica and thom] decided to go and look at toys for an assignment. Upon reaching Jurong East, jessica say she wants to go home so end up just left me and thom on a "date". Went to Vivo for no apparent reasons. Had our lunch at this Hong Kong cafe thingy place which is much better than Xin Wang [take that Nic]. Went shopping around at Toy's R Us and end up catching a movie, Pan's Labyrinth.

Pan's Labyrithn is a nice spanish movie. Although done by the Mexican director who did Hellboy and Blade, this one has a different feel that the comic book make overs. Guess I was looking forward to more fantasy-ish scenes. The cross between the civil war and the girl's attempt to return to her kingdom of the underrealm seems to have a deeper meaning which might explain the lack [for me at least] of fantasy scenes. Overall, it's a good film, so catch it if you can.

Other movie to look out for - 300, a adaptation of Frank Miller's [creator of Sin City] comic of the same name.

By the way, it's still raining now. I Hate The Rain.

So What is Your Story?

Have you ever wondered why you are doing what you are doing now? Why the lawyers are lawyers? How doctors decide to be doctors? Where do their stories began. I guess mine has been written for me when I was born. Once many years ago, my mom was cleaning up her drawers when she showed me this big red piece of paper. Apparently we had the chracters of our names and time of birth consulted by some guru guy. I think we did the thing you see in chinese serial dramas on TV where babies choose among many items their "future". Apparently i choose a brush or something like that. That might be the reason why my mom likes to send me to art classes and stuff when I was young. Apparently, my horoscope also pushed me into certain direction. Talk about destiny.

Anyway, this is not what I want to talk about. I found my old back-ups of my music yesterday and was super surprised when I found my collection of band songs. It has been almost 3 years since I touched my choice instrument which I had played for 10 years. Mind you, I'm not a master of the instrument though I've played it for 10 years [mainly because I'm pure lazy to practice] but I so miss the wonderful times I had when I was among my friends playing in harmony [or tried to at least] It was quite funny that we actually remembered how to get to one of my friends house by humming a song from the bus stop.

What brought back the most memories was when I hear the song, I could almost imagine myself playing the same notes so many years ago and feel the same emotions flowing through me again, telling the story of the musical notes. The power of music.

Now, I have the sudden urge to join a band, maybe one from school but looking at my course and all, I very much doubt i have to time to do so. Not taking into account how long it has been since i touched my baby. Oh and coincidentally, my friend smsed early this morning to ask if anyone wanna join her in playing in the wards in TTSH as part of the Art of Healing programme on one of the sundays in Feb. I was tempted to do so but I don't know how much time and energy I have left to commit to it now that school has started.

I Miss My Music Playing Days.

Tomorrow is a new day

A month just fly by in a blink of an eye. Tomorrow will be the start of the new semester. It was [in the words if Ning] the most unproductive holiday ever. I kind of agree seeing that all that was accomplished was tidying up my room, doing up a design for a competition which I didn't win. Met up with a number of people during the short break but not enough I think. However, did had a wonderful time with the OCT bros, my sec sch buddies and my classmates.

There has been a lot of project ideas running through my head and i kind of regretted that the holidays was spent fruitfully. I guess i will have to squeeze time out to complete these projects [esp nic's lamp] Tomorrow's a new start. Hopefully, this semester will turn out as well as the last. Now that my uncle is in USA, i will have to make my own way to school in the morning. It means an early night for me. Seeing how broke i'm, it means no more taxis. Well, it sucks to be the poor student [and when ning grad, i'll be the only poor student left]. Got to find part-time job or some form of funding.

Can't wait for March to come.

A decade and more to come

On the 3rd, went out with a group of friends whom i have known for a decade. Meixia. Szeming. Shirin. Shirley. Boonyuan. Too bad wanqing couldn't join us. It seems like only yesterday when the all of us enter a new place without hardly knowing anyone and within a week of school got used to each other's company and soon forged the bonds that would last a decade. Sorry for the lack of photos [my phone camera kinda suck at night] but here's to my best bud.

And today, i drop by town to collect this! Can't wait for March to come [for many reasons].

Backwards Glance

yesterday had the OCT bros over for chill out/new year celebration at my place since we all couldn't get a common timing for both Christmas' Eve and New Year's Eve. Well didn't realize it was holiday on the 2nd (which is today) so actually arranged for an afternoon timing. Supposed to be Botak Jones then chill out at my place. Then Ivan called say he can only make it later. Suppose to meet at 2. As usual the actual meeting time is an hour or so later. So I spent the whole afternoon doing nothing. Nic arrived first. Followed by the AMK/AuKang ppl. Then wanli. Their reactions when they came into my house was funny. Nic was like super calm. Then we hang out watching tv. But when the rest came, they were like super shocked at how huge my house was. I didn't know what to say. They complained about my room. I DID TIDIED IT! ITS NOT REALLY MESSY! well, they are already starting to plan my room revamp. Had pizza then mahjung. Well, basic chill out stuff. They left at close to midnight. What a day!.

Today was sleeping day. Think I was running a fever so slept the half the day through. Spent the other half reading through my old posts and realize how much i have grown up or change since i started the blog almost 2 years ago. Haha. Something ironic when i claim to not want to grow up. Well, guess its just part of life.

Something New...

A new look for the new year. Kinda reminds me of Peter Pan don't you think so?

This was how I got through 2006.

Well, there's always the mention of resolutions every new year. So here's a general list for me.

1. Get fit/fat/bulky (they should really build a swimming pool beside my house)
2. Get good grades
3. Get money
4. Get someone
5. Get some works done

You know what, my brain's is sort of in screen saver mode now but that is more or less what i H.O.P.E to achieve soon.

Well, now waiting for the OCT bros to come over. Yawn.

Let's pray for a good beginning and a better year than the previous one.
