Dark And Gloomy

Thunder shakes the house as the dark clouds spread across the morning sky. DAMN! Just when I plan to go swimming this afternoon. Hope the sky clears by then.

Been getting some design jobs but hopefully they pay well too. The adreneline rush of coming up with a cool idea is satisifying but the annual Great! Singapore Sale is here so I do need some funds to upgrade myself. Currently on my list are new specs, contact lens, plain tee from Topman and Berms from FOX. If I would love add in a pair of Havaianas flip-flops and some cool vintage tees as well. Well the priority goes to my specs and contacts I guess which will bring my funds down by quite a bit.

There is the newly discovered Dunkin' Donuts Delievery too. They claim to deliver dunkin'donuts every Wed and Sun to various locations in Singapore and Jurong East happens to be one of them. Can't wait to get my hands on them.

To make things worst, there's this cool Holga "zeng" (modification) I saw online. It's from Japan though. Maybe if Ivan's reading this, he can tell Lyn about it and Lyn could buy it for me. Muhahahahah. Guess holidays ain't the best time to be saving up.

Anyway, got quite a number of projects on hand that is keep me on my toes. Being the slacker/stoner me, my feet is constantly on my mini-coffee table so they ain't getting anywhere yet. I really have to push a little more. Well then again, It's the holidays.

I'm trying to buff up too. Been trying to swim a lot lately. The results seem kinda minimal. Guess gyming is still the more effective way to go. We'll see how. I'm getting samples of a relatively cheap protein/health shake thingy from my friend. If it's any good, i might start taking it. For now, will have to settle with dark and handsome first.

Finally, a shoutout to my lovely friends, please contribute to the I-Love-Jonathan Fund and fulfill the wishes of a poor starving artist.

p/s You can pass my contacts to anyone you know who need some help in designing too. It helps the fund too.

I'm a Photographer!

Finally went on a photography outing last thursday. But the day started out kinda bad. I was planning to go for a swim before meeting ningz at Chinatown. Went all the way to Jurong East Swimming Complex only to find it closed for a staff gathering. Went down to Bukit Batok one since its so near and found out its closed as well! Was damn pissed so I let some steam out by walking home. Went down to meet Ningz and exited at the wrong exit. Shows how long I have not been to that area. Dropped by Kim Tian to ask some stuff and proceed to have Holy Ba Zhang. Wondered around Far East Sq until it rained! Was hidding along some corridor thingy and saw something that might look nice on celloloid (ok digital one). Was about to take the shot when a security guard came over and ask "what are you doing?" I answered "taking photo" and got a "You can't take photo here" reply. But its the exterior of the building. I'm not even in the building. You mean I can take photos outside your building? Anyway, was planning to take a trip to Haji Lane which was suppose to be cool and all but kinda got diverted by Fort Canning Park.

Fort Canning Park is a cool place to explore. And also a good place to kill someone (or anyone for that matter) There's also alot to learn along the paths. Well, went shutter happy along the road and got a few nice shots for a competition. Saw the stage for SRT's Mid-Summer Night's Dream and was totally tempted to watch it. Who wants to sponsor me?

Went to slack at Cathay while waiting for Alec to finish work. Had a long discussion on Ya Kun and his true identity and schoool and photography.

Proceed to Bishan to catch Pirates 3. It's like one of the best trilogy I've seen so far. It's plain funny with all the puns and references to movie and slapstick stuff. Too bad couldn't slack around longer as I had to catch the last train home. But it was wonderful to meet up after so long. Guess everyone will be busy after this. Let's chill again.

We are planning to look for this guy. To prove Loy Ah Koon exists. WAhahhah

That is one BIG packet of tea

When I Grow Up, I Want To Be A Photographer

I was surfing the net and chance upon this Japanese artist based in New York. Had instant connection with his works which had alot of interaction with the viewers and the subject and the artist. Take a look at family portraits and false landscapes. I had similar ideas before. Maybe I can give it a try myself.

Worst

I'm the worst best friend anyone could have. Had a nice talk with my sec school buddy after work jsut now. Been a while since we went out by ourselves. Maybe I'm always too self-centered. or maybe it's partly because I kept too much to myself which is why I dont want to indulge into others too much. Well, I still love him to bits. Best friend for close to 10 years. Sorry Buddy. But you know i'll support u anyhow, whatever decision you make.

Im in love with TIMMY!

Hunting Season

Thought I should talk about the holidays so far.

If you had read the previous few post, you would have an idea of how the holiday was so far. Basically, I did all the things [well most] I've been talking about during the whole semester. I went for my swim [finally!]. caught some movies [thanks to Thom's cousin, I got to watch a Danish film for free, a pity I only caught like 10% of SIFF], took a trip down to sentosa [I'm now in beach boy mood], kicked off some projects I had.

I wish I could put all these on loop for the next 2-3 months but my slimming wallet is crying out in pain. So off I'm to look for a decent job in the industry. The problem is not much people are replying. Fingers crossed. Hopefully I get an industry job so at least I learn something decent this break. But any income providing job will do.

Yesterday was SUCH A BAD DAY, a friend cancelled dinner on me so I slacked at home till szeming called in the evening. Made my way to meixia's house for mahjung and the first thing auntie [xia's mom] said was "So long never see so thin, never eat ah [in chinese]" I was like [--"]. Lost ALL my chips in 2 rounds of Mahjung which total up to $40 odd. Only paid auntie who won 4 bucks cause teacher and policeman pity the poor arts student. Wahaha. Then went down to NUS prata shop for DINNER at close to midnight and still able to make it for the last bus back home. Overall. had a fun time. But now i owe the two a dinner after I get my pay for my ushering job.

Well, now I have to think of what to do with my free time for the weeks to come while waiting for replies from people [I'm checking my mail like every one hour now].

So let the hunting season begin.

Kudos to SIFF

Singapore International Film Festival has nurtured many filmmakers and will continue to do so. Please Support SIFF next year.

Caught 2 events only this year. Only managed to catch the finalists for short film. Was unable to catch all the entries due to my exams. But the finalists were great, well except for Andy Worhol. Don't like him coz of some personal reasons. The others were great and were mostly Ngee Ann Alumnis and students.

Wanted to talked to junfeng but didn't get the chance to. He was talking to some guy while the others were waiting for me. Did send him my regrets over the net though.

My goal to be one of the finalists next year.
