So What is Your Story?
Have you ever wondered why you are doing what you are doing now? Why the lawyers are lawyers? How doctors decide to be doctors? Where do their stories began. I guess mine has been written for me when I was born. Once many years ago, my mom was cleaning up her drawers when she showed me this big red piece of paper. Apparently we had the chracters of our names and time of birth consulted by some guru guy. I think we did the thing you see in chinese serial dramas on TV where babies choose among many items their "future". Apparently i choose a brush or something like that. That might be the reason why my mom likes to send me to art classes and stuff when I was young. Apparently, my horoscope also pushed me into certain direction. Talk about destiny.
Anyway, this is not what I want to talk about. I found my old back-ups of my music yesterday and was super surprised when I found my collection of band songs. It has been almost 3 years since I touched my choice instrument which I had played for 10 years. Mind you, I'm not a master of the instrument though I've played it for 10 years [mainly because I'm pure lazy to practice] but I so miss the wonderful times I had when I was among my friends playing in harmony [or tried to at least] It was quite funny that we actually remembered how to get to one of my friends house by humming a song from the bus stop.
What brought back the most memories was when I hear the song, I could almost imagine myself playing the same notes so many years ago and feel the same emotions flowing through me again, telling the story of the musical notes. The power of music.
Now, I have the sudden urge to join a band, maybe one from school but looking at my course and all, I very much doubt i have to time to do so. Not taking into account how long it has been since i touched my baby. Oh and coincidentally, my friend smsed early this morning to ask if anyone wanna join her in playing in the wards in TTSH as part of the Art of Healing programme on one of the sundays in Feb. I was tempted to do so but I don't know how much time and energy I have left to commit to it now that school has started.
I Miss My Music Playing Days.
